Product Description
A water pump is a machine that transports liquids or pressurizes liquids. It transfers the mechanical energy of the prime mover or other external energy to the liquid to increase the energy of the liquid. It is mainly used to transport liquids including water, oil, acid, and alkali liquids, emulsions, suspoemulsions and liquid metals.
It can also transport liquids, gas mixtures and liquids containing suspended solids. The technical parameters of pump performance include flow, suction, lift, shaft power, water power, efficiency, etc.; according to different working principles, it can be divided into volumetric pumps, vane pumps and other types. Positive displacement pumps use changes in the volume of their working chambers to transfer energy; vane pumps use the interaction between rotating blades and water to transfer energy. There are centrifugal pumps, axial flow pumps and mixed flow pumps.
Causes of water pump failures and troubleshooting methods:
No water from the pump/ insufficient water flow:
Causes of failure:
1. The inlet and outlet valves are not opened, the inlet and outlet pipelines are blocked, and the impeller flow passage and impeller are blocked.
2. The running direction of the motor is wrong, and the motor speed is relatively slow due to the lack of phase.
3. Air leakage in the suction pipe.
4. The pump is not filled with liquid, and there is gas in the pump cavity.
5. The inlet water supply waterfall is sufficient, the suction range is too high, and the bottom valve leaks.
6. The pipeline resistance is too large, and the pump type is improperly selected.
7. Partial blockage of pipelines and pump impeller flow passages, deposits of scale, and insufficient valve opening.
8. The voltage is low.
9. The impeller is worn.
Elimination method:
1. Check and remove obstructions.
2. Adjust the direction of the motor and tighten the motor wiring.
3. Tighten each sealing surface to remove air.
4. Open the upper cover of the pump or open the exhaust valve to exhaust the air.
5. Shutdown inspection and adjustment (this phenomenon is prone to occur when the water pipe is connected to the grid and the use with suction lift).
6. Reduce piping bends and reselect the pump.
7. Remove the obstruction and readjust the valve opening.
8. Voltage stabilization.
9. Replace the impeller.
Excessive power
cause of issue:
1. The working condition exceeds the rated flow usage range.
2. The suction range is too high.
3. The pump bearings are worn.
Solution:
1. Adjust the flow rate and close the outlet valve.
2. Reduce the suction range.
3. Replace the bearing
The pump has noise/vibration:
cause of issue:
1. The pipeline support is unstable
2. Gas is mixed in the conveying medium.
3. The water pump produces cavitation.
4. The bearing of the water pump is damaged.
5. The motor is running with overload and heating.
Solution:
1. Stabilize the pipeline.
2. Increase suction pressure and exhaust.
3. Reduce the vacuum degree.
4. Replace the bearing.
Water pump is leaking:
cause of issue:
1. The mechanical seal is worn.
2. The pump body has sand holes or cracks.
3. The sealing surface is not flat.
4. Loose installation bolts.
Solution: rest or replace parts and fix the bolts
